Piotr Tatara is the President of the Foundation “PROTURMED”. He worked in local and regional governments where he was in charge of the complex promotion of the cities, regions and various tourist products. His professional experience comes from working mainly in public administration, creating a management system for promotion of Polish tourism in a close cooperation with tourism business.
His main speciality is the implementation and management of the EU-funded projects to support the process of change of the image of Polish tourism around the world. Working for Polish Tourist Organisation he supervised the most crucial promotional projects aimed at the European and Asian markets.
He has been involved in the promotion of Poland as one of the most attractive destination of health tourism in the world.
He is a representative and a member of Polish and international organisations involved in the programming and implementing of EU funds dedicated to tourism. Furthermore, he worked as a Special Advisor for tourism in the European Commission in Brussels.
He is also an author of numerous presentations and articles on tourism development in Poland.
His point of view: In order to further develop tourism, there has to be a very close cooperation between public and private sectors on every level of public administration.
